About Ana Carolina

Biography

Ana Carolina is a 22-year-old Brazilian artist. She paints flowers, skies and landscapes full of light, in generous layers of paint and vivid color.

Art has been part of her life since childhood. As an adult, she chose to turn that passion into her craft and began her studies in art. Since then, every canvas has been a way of looking at life with more lightness.

A pianist as well, she brings to painting the sensitivity she finds in music. Her love of art has taken her to museums in Paris, London and New York, to see works by Monet and Van Gogh up close.

Her wish is simple: that each painting brings a little beauty and happiness into the home of whoever takes it.

Artist statement

My ideas come from travel and from observing the beauty of life as it is. I want people to feel fullness, happiness in its truest form, and to see what has always been inside them.

Process

Ana paints mostly in oil on canvas, usually at home. She works with a flat brush and uses the paint almost undiluted, in thick layers that leave the brushstrokes in relief: up close, every petal and every wave has a texture of its own.

Her ideas come mainly from travel and from observing the beauty of life as it is.
